Frequently asked questions

The questions customers ask most, answered without padding.

If your question is not here, a coordinator will answer it directly. Write to [email protected] or use the contact form.

Is there a charge for an estimate?

We do not describe anything as no-cost unless it truly is. The diagnostic step is a real piece of bench work, so it is charged, and it is explained in the refund policy. You receive an estimate range before work begins. Where a local workshop offers an initial assessment at no charge, a coordinator will tell you so when your job is matched, but that is a workshop's own choice, not a network policy.

How long does a repair take?

Screen and battery jobs are usually the quickest, because panels and cells are commonly stocked. Keyboard work is fast when the assembly is available. Logic board work takes longer, because the fault must be found and repaired at component level. Mail-in adds shipping time at both ends. You get a realistic spread when your job is matched.

Do you work outside the four named countries?

The network covers the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada and Australia. If you are elsewhere, write to us anyway and a coordinator will say whether a route exists for your machine.

What about my data?

Back up before the machine leaves you. Hardware repair and data handling are separate concerns, and a repair does not replace your own copy. If the drive itself is suspected, say so, because the bench will plan the order of work differently and may advise against repeated start attempts.

Can you fix a machine that another shop worked on?

Often yes. Tell us what was done and when, so the bench knows what it is inheriting. Work carried out elsewhere is not covered by our warranty, but it can still be diagnosed and repaired as a fresh case.

What if the repair costs more than the estimate?

You get a revised figure and a choice: proceed, narrow the scope, or stop. Nothing beyond the approved scope is carried out without a fresh approval. That gate exists precisely for cases where a first look reveals more than expected.

Is there a warranty?

Yes. Parts and labour carry a warranty, with the exact window depending on the fault family and the parts used. Your repair summary states the terms, and the general shape of the cover is on the warranty page.

Are you connected to the manufacturer?

No. We are an independent repair network. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Apple Inc. MacBook is a trademark of Apple Inc. We are not an authorised service provider. Our technicians are independent tradespeople working to their own standards, held to ours.

Can I send just a part?

No. A repair needs the whole machine so the fault can be reproduced and the result tested in context. Sending a loose part removes the ability to confirm the fault and the fix.

What about liquid damage?

Liquid cases are handled with care and honesty. Some are cleanly repairable, some are not. The bench cleans, measures and reports before recommending a course, and will tell you plainly when a repair is not sensible. Read more on the logic board and liquid page.

How do I book?

Send your device details through the contact page or the form on the pricing page. A coordinator replies by email, matches your job and gives an estimate range.
